Sunshine Time

Today’s Sunshine program includes singing Christmas carols together during the 10:30 a.m. program in the fellowship hall of Badin Baptist Church. A “Christmas Magic” covered dish lunch will follow. All adults are invited to enjoy this time of fellowship.

Bread Giveaway

This month’s bread giveaway is Dec. 22 in the Badin VFD parking lot at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to come pick up a loaf as long as it lasts.

Museum Holiday Store

The last day for shopping at Badin Historic Museum’s Holiday Store is Dec. 23. Come to the Firehouse Museum building, 62 Falls Road, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 19, 22 or 23 for a wide selection of Moravian baked goods, including flavored sugar cookies, sugar cakes and savory frozen chicken pot pies for gifts or convenient meals.

Badin UMC

The community is invited to the 11 a.m. service Dec. 24 in celebration of the Fourth Sunday of Advent, as well as the candlelight Christmas Eve Communion service planned for 5 p.m. Dr. Doug Hume is the pastor of Badin UMC, 18 Hickory St.
First Baptist Church

Everyone is invited to join Pastor Anthony Neal and Lady Christie Neal along with the First Baptist family for the 11 a.m. Christmas Eve service Dec. 24 in the church sanctuary, 201 Wayne St. The New Year’s Eve service Dec. 31 is at 11 a.m. Both services will also be live streamed.

Palestine Community Church

A Christmas Eve program is planned for Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The community is invited to join Pastor Kevin McCormac and the Palestine Community Church family in the continuing celebration of the season, 36414 Palestine Road.

Stony Hill UMC

Pastor Kaye Fry invites everyone to the Christmas Eve Candlelight service Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. The church is at 28996 Stony Hill Road.

Badin Library

The library will be closed Dec. 26, but reopen Dec. 28 from 3-7 p.m. Storytime will resume Jan. 9, 2024.

Limb and Brush
Monthly limb and brush pickup is the first Tuesday of each month.

Jan. 2 begins the 2024 schedule. More information is available at www.badin.org.

Morrow Mountain

Finish out 2023 with a ranger-guided moderate hike on the 3.3-mile Hattaway Trail on Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lower Picnic Area Parking Lot.

For a more relaxed outing, enjoy coffee with a ranger on Dec. 24 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Shelter A.

On Jan. 1, 2024 the First Day Hike is from 10-11 a.m. on the Quarry Trail, an easy 0.6-mile hike, with an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps at Morrow Mountain.

From now through February, State Park hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
