CONCORD – A $2.6 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation this month will bring improvements to nearly seven miles of roads in Cabarrus County.

Contractor NJR Group, Inc. of Albemarle will perform the improvements for five segments of roads including:

• N.C. 3 from Brookfield Avenue to Copperfield Blvd. in Concord
• N.C. 24/27 East from Pioneer Mill Road to Old Camden Road in Midland
• Mt. Pleasant Road from Barringer Road to Oldenburg Drive, and from Bost Cutoff Road to N.C. 200 in Concord
• Miami Church Road from Barrier-Georgeville Road to Mt. Pleasant Road in Concord

Work can start in spring 2024, with the contract calling for completion in the fall of 2025.
